PHILADELPHIA - June 7, 2013

In many places, the water levels were dangerously high.

Residents along the 1300 block of Parker, the 600 block of West 14th street, the 600 block of West 13th Street and the 1400 block of Kerlin Street, were asked to leave their homes and remove their vehicles from the area.

Fire officials said those unable to relocate on their own could ask fire officials for assistance.

The city, in conjunction with the Red Cross, opened a shelter at 9:00 p.m. at the Showalter Middle School located in the 200 block of West 9th Street.

The city was expecting about 50 families to be displaced.

But as of 11:00 p.m. no one had showed up, so officials closed it.
