Traffic stop leads to cocaine bust in Delaware

MIDDLETOWN, Del. - December 9, 2013

It happened at 3:00 p.m. Friday on southbound Route 1 near Pole Bridge Road in Middletown.

State troopers stopped 23-year-old Bilal Jones of North Plainfield, NJ after they say he failed to signal before changing lanes.

When they approached Jones' 2003 Hyundai Sonata, troopers say they smelled marijuana.

Upon searching the car, they found a bag containing 261 grams, or about 9 ounces, of cocaine in the trunk.

Jones was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and failure to signal a lane change.

He has been released on $25,001 secured bail.

A passenger in the vehicle was not charged.
