Officials say rescue crews were called to an accident in the 3000 block of North Delsea Drive just before 10:30 p.m. with reports of people trapped.
They received reports of a car in the lake and someone yelling for help.Crews rescued the driver, 33-year-old Nicholas P. Sumner of Millville, New Jersey and a passenger, 27-year-old Kyle Kasper.
Sumner was treated at the scene but died from his injuries.
Kasper was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
