Museums to mark Pennsylvania's 333rd birthday

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - March 4, 2014

Sunday marks the day that William Penn was granted a charter by King Charles II of Great Britain to create Pennsylvania in 1681.

The charter will be displayed that day at Pennsbury Manor, a re-creation of Penn's country estate in Morrisville, Bucks County on Sunday.

Various other sites have commemorative events planned including the Drake Well Museum near Titusville, the Fort Pitt Museum in Pittsburgh, the Daniel Boone Homestead in Birdsboro, and the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.
