Chene A. Mejias, 21, has been charged in the death of Wilson A. Mejias, 65, who was found dead in the bedroom of his apartment in the 800 block of South 12th Street early Tuesday morning.
Police say Chene Mejias lived there with Wilson Mejias.
Allentown police say the investigation began with a phone call from police in Bronx, New York at 2:26 a.m.
Officers there said a woman had come into their department to say a man had been killed in Allentown.
Allentown police went to the address and found Wilson Mejias dead, covered in bedding, towels, sheets and plastic bags.
Chene Mejias is being held in New York pending extradition proceedings.
There was no word on a motive for this crime.
