The accident occurred at 8:55 p.m. at 5th Street and Lehigh Avenue.
Officials tell Action News a SEPTA police officer and his K-9 partner were responding the report of a disturbance on a bus.
While on the way to the bus, the SEPTA SUV and another vehicle collided at 5th and Lehigh.
Two people in the second vehicle, including a woman in her 20s, were injured.
There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
The officer and K-9 were uninjured.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate.
