PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Rustin High School Golden Knights are taking over the Action News Yard, bringing the School Spirit.
"We're going full out each time," says Arnav Soni the band's drum major.
This selection titled "Lost" is an original composition with pop-culture references a-plenty.
"Everyone knows about "Castaway." It's that pop culture collective unconscious," said Color Guard Section Leader Bridget Casey.
In it, the color guard has been stranded on a desert island. Led by Co-Captain Henry Romans.
"There's so much artistic power that you can put into your work. The flag, it's not just a stick... it's a medium," said Romans.
The marching band from West Chester is comprised of 50 students directed by Mike Shoremount. He has been leading the nine-time state champions since 2006.
"To see them to reach their full potential, and everything they're able to accomplish. It's amazing," said Shoremount.
To get this good they're putting in grueling days and hard work.
"That effort is what translates into our music and translates into passion," says Soni.
