Amtrak experiencing lengthy delays between Philadelphia, New York due to downed wires

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- There are some travel headaches amid the holiday rush.

Amtrak service is delayed between Philadelphia and New York after service was suspended for a couple of hours Sunday morning.

Officials say this was caused by downed power wires blocking the tracks.

Amtrak personnel have restored one track to regular service, allowing minimal train movement.

Amtrak says people traveling along the Northeast Corridor should expect lengthy delays.
