Propane truck left dangling over creek after one-lane bridge collapses in Lehigh County
A propane truck was left dangling over a creek in Lehigh County after a bridge collapsed on Tuesday afternoon.

LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A propane truck was left dangling over a creek in Lehigh County after a bridge collapsed on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. on a small bridge off of the 3700 block of Orchid Place in Lower Macungie Twp.

The bridge crosses over the Little Lehigh Creek.

Police say the 35-year-old woman who was driving had to be rescued from the vehicle. She was not injured.

It took eight hours to remove the truck.

State police told WFMZ-TV that troopers are conducting an inspection of the truck. The bridge's posted weight limit is five tons, WFMZ-TV reported, and the propane truck could have been carrying up to 16 tons.
