PAULSBORO, N.J. (WPVI) -- A multi-vehicle crash involving a salt truck and two tractor trailers is slowing traffic on I-295 South in Gloucester County.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday near Exit 18 in Paulsboro.
Police tell Action News a salt truck was involved in the collision, and that at least one of the tractor trailers is jackknifed at the scene.
The salt truck ended up on its side in a wooded area off the highway. The driver has been taken to Cooper University Hospital.
There was no immediate word on his condition.
Images from the Action Cam broadcast on Action News at 6:30 a.m. showed the salt truck lying on its side and an extensive backup approaching the scene.
Two right lanes were shut down. One lane of traffic was getting by on the left shoulder.
It was not immediately clear if other vehicles were involved, or if anyone else was injured.
