Passengers on a flight from Iceland to Denver had no idea they were flying overseas with a hole in the plane.

About 90 seconds after take-off, the 757 was hit by lightning which left a big gash in the front.

Passengers say they heard a loud pop.

The pilot gave an all-clear and the flight continued on its trans-Atlantic trek.

Icelandair says protocol was followed and the plane is being inspected.
