Amazon has pulled a controversial computer game that allowed players to throw food at an anorexic cartoon character to fatten her up.
The app, called "Rescue the Anorexia Girl," encouraged users to throw cake and other fattening sweets at a woman who popped up from holes in the ground, whack-a-mole style.
If the player missed, the girl would lose weight until she died.
The developers say the game was only intended to raise awareness about eating disorders in a jovial way.
That game isn't the only weight-oriented app trending today.
A program that lets users see what they would look like if they shed a few pounds is sparking an online debate.
"Visualize You" allows you to take a photo of your face, enter your current height and weight, then enter your target weight.
The app then generates a picture of what you'd look like slimmer.
Some say a view of the "future you" can be motivating, but critics argue the app could leave dieters depressed and discouraged.
