Police and corrections officials are searching for a jailed man who escaped from custody while being treated at Beebe Medical Center.

Department of Correction spokeswoman Gail Stallings Minor says Calvin B. Harmon escaped from corrections personnel Friday evening. He had been receiving treatment all day at Beebe's emergency room.

Stallings Minor says Harmon was changing from street clothes to hospital garb when he escaped. She did not say how exactly he escaped.

State police arrested Harmon Thursday on burglary, criminal solicitation, theft, conspiracy and criminal mischief charges. After his arraignment, state police took him to Beebe because of a medical condition. The Department of Correction took custody of him Friday morning.
