Police say a teenaged dropout and his new wife, a 36-year-old mother of three, put a crew of teens to work looting unlocked cars and homes in the Philadelphia suburbs. Police say 19-year-old Thomas Gallagher Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Hails, stole laptop computers, iPods, cash and credit cards during a nine-month crime spree that ended with their arrests this month.

Authorities say the group broke into more than 100 homes and cars, many of which were unlocked.

A middle school assistant principal prompted the investigation after he noticed a student trying to fence an item at school.

Authorities refuse to say what the item was.

Gallagher and Hails married on Jan. 4 and were arrested within days.

Four teens from Newtown Square, ages 13 to 17, are also charged.
