All four are expected to recover.

An early morning police chase from Southwest Philadelphia to Gladwyne, Montgomery County, has landed two suspects and two police officers in the hospital.

The chase began around 1:45 Tuesday morning, when police responded to a robbery in progress.

The suspects tried to outrace police by taking the Schuylkill Expressway to the Gladwyne exit.

After getting off at Gladwyne, the suspects' car went out of control, flipping a number of times and slamming into a utility pole.

The suspects tried to escape into a nearby creek. Police pursued them on foot and tried to rescue them.

Both the officers and suspects were injured during the foot race and rescue attempt. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspects face a long list of charges.
