A woman is in the hospital this morning, after police say she fought off an attacker in what appears to be an attempted abduction.

It happened around 6 a.m. at Front Street and Lehigh Avenue in Kensington.

Police tell Action News that a 29-year-old woman was approached by a man driving a dark colored vehicle. The man allegedly tried to lure the woman into an alley behind the Liberty gas station.

The woman put up a fight and was slashed several times in the face by a sharp object.

The suspect got away.
