Giant Food Stores has opened a huge new supermarket in Montgomery County. The store, located in Willow Grove, opened Wednesday morning. It is more than 97,000 square feet and features more than just groceries.

It has two-plus acres of food aisles along with free babysitting for parents shopping there, self-checkout islands, a cooking school, four community meeting rooms, and a wireless Internet cafDe.

The company says the store has 475 full-time and part-time employees.

The new market will compete with a 125,000-square-foot Wegmans that opened in the Valley Square Shopping Center in Warrington in late 2006 and a Wal-Mart Super Center opening in the area in May.
