Delco interpreter killed in Iraq

March 15, 2008 Albert Haroutounian, known as Albert Babaian to friends, died in a suicide bombing last Monday near Baghdad. He was 36.

The attack was the deadliest on U.S. forces in more than eight months.

Five soldiers were killed. Three others wounded.

Haroutounian was a civilian translator working with a company called Trinity as a contract employee.

He was saving up to open his own pizza shop in Delaware County. He had only two more weeks of duty before he was to have come home.
