Flyers top the Islanders, 4-3

Danny Briere had the lone shootout goal and the Philadelphia Flyers inched closer to wrapping up a playoff berth by beating the New York Islanders 4-3. The Flyers trailed twice in the third period before moving into a sixth-place tie with the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference. Joffrey Lupul and Mike Richards each scored equalizers in the final period of the Flyers' fifth victory in six games. Briere also scored in regulation for Philadelphia.

Wade Dubieliewicz made a career-high 51 saves before stopping Richards and Jeff Carter in the first two rounds of the shootout.

Richard Park, Blake Comeau and Frans Nielsen provided the Islanders' scoring.
