New Castle County officials say two teens were injured - one seriously - when the car they were riding in hit a telephone pole last night.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. on Limestone Road north of Kirkwood Highway.

Sergeant Kelli Starr-Leach of New Castle County paramedics says the teens were trapped in the vehicle for about 30 minutes.

She says the 17-year-old driver suffered head injuries and is in stable condition, but the 15-year-old passenger suffered internal injuries and is reported in serious condition. Both teens were taken to Christiana Hospital. State police are investigating the crash.
