Officials say an all-terrain vehicle rider is dead after being hit by a freight train in a remote area of Berks County. Officials say someone on the Norfolk Southern freight called the Berks County Communications Center about 9 p.m. Thursday, reporting that the train struck someone riding an ATV on the tracks.

Emergency workers used trails to reach the site near the Titus Generating Station in Cumru Township where the train was stopped. Police and coroner's office officials worked into the night under floodlights.

Police say they are looking for a second ATV rider.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or details of the collision.
