The husband of a Lancaster County woman found dead in the family pool has been charged this weekend in her death.Michael Roseboro, 41, of Reinholds is the lone suspect in the July 22 death of his wife Jan, East Cocalico police said.

In court papers, police asked to seize Roseboro's work computer to investigate statements from a woman who said she had been having an affair with Roseboro and met with him hours before the slaying.

Jan Roseboro, 45, was struck in the head with a tool stamped with an "L" mark, then beaten and kicked, court documents say. She was also strangled and had water in her lungs, authorities said.

"Someone used a lot of force on her body and wanted to kill her, and did," District Attorney Craig Stedman said previously.

Michael Roseboro called police at about 11 p.m. to say he had fallen asleep that night and awoke to find his wife in the pool. He was trying to revive her when paramedics arrived.

Three of the couple's four children were home at the time. No blood was found in or near the pool, but police said they noticed a bucket nearby containing a rag and a cleaning agent, leading them to believe that blood was cleaned up to conceal the crime.

The husband had multiple scratches near his mouth and an apparently fresh cut on his left hand when detectives interviewed him, police said.

Michael Roseboro was arrested late Saturday on a criminal homicide charge, East Cocalico Officer Bob Good said Sunday. He was being held in the Lancaster County Prison without bail. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

Good declined to provide details of the arrest, citing a news conference the district attorney plans to hold Monday.

Michael Roseboro is a director of the Roseboro Funeral Home in Denver.
