Philadelphia police are investigating what led to the fatal beating of a 37-year-old man by his roommate Saturday night in the city's Grays Ferry section.Sources tell Action News that the two men who lived on the 2600 block of Wilder Street became involved in an argument around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when one of the roommates struck the other multiple times with a blunt object.

A 37-year-old male was pronounced dead inside of the home.

Neighbors tell Action News the men were first arguing outside of the home then went inside where the fatal beating occurred.

Investigators say the victim apparently was under the influence of drugs and started to attack the roommate, who struck his roommate in self-defense, killing him.
