Campbell Soup HQ expansion gets under way

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - October 14, 2008 New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine is scheduled to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Campbell's new employee services building on Tuesday morning.

The world's largest soupmaker has had its headquarters in Camden since the company was founded in 1869.

Last week, Campbell announced that it will contribute $10 million over the next five years for job training and neighborhood revitalization in the city, which ranks as one of the nation's poorest.

Campbell also has plans for an office park development in the area near its headquarters.
