Tim McGraw to deliver game ball

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - October 24, 2008

He's been asked to play a key role at tomorrow night's Game 3 of the World Series in Philadelphia.

McGraw's dad, Tug, used to play for the Phillies. And he threw the final pitch of the clinching game of the only World Series title the Phils have won, back in 1980.

The Phillies and Major League Baseball have asked Tim McGraw to deliver the game ball to the mound. He will be accompanied by a local member of the Boys & Girls Club of America.

The game will be held at Citizens Bank Park.
