A state spokeswoman says the governor's Wilmington office was evacuated for a few hours after a secretary received a letter with suspicious powder inside. Gov. Ruth Ann Minner's spokeswoman Catherine Bakerian says Minner wasn't in the State Office Building at 1 p.m. Friday when the letter was discovered.

Bakerian says the building's 12th floor was evacuated while authorities searched the area and analyzed the letter and powder.

She says no one was injured and the secretary who discovered the letter was evaluated by authorities.

At least nine states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have reported receiving similar letters.
