Firefighters had to rescue the contractor, who had been dangling from a 105-foot pole for about 20 minutes.
Reed was hired by a Richmond, Va., area auto dealer to change a cable on the pole.
His rope-and-board seating rig slipped, and Reed was left to twist in the wind.
Firefighters used a bucket ladder to bring him down.
Despite his mishap, Reed says he plans to keep climbing until he's 75.
