Diehard Penn State football fans will soon find out the names in the next class of Nittany Lions. It's the first day that high school recruits can sign national letters of intent, locking them into their college destinations.

Penn State already has a few recruits locked up after quarterback Kevin Newsome and three other players finished high school early and enrolled last month in college.

Newsome is a highly rated player from Chatham, Va. He's expected to be the backup to starter Daryll Clark this fall, and could take over the top job in 2010 as a sophomore.

About two dozen more recruits could make commit to Penn State by day's end.
