Passenger info. for crash victims

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - February 13, 2009

Airline officials say relatives and friends should call 1-800-621-3263.

Residents who live in Clarence, where the plane went down, can call 716-741-8930.

As the information number was released, a team of National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived at the scene of last night's commuter airplane crash outside Buffalo.

The NTSB's Steven Chealander held a news conference this morning and said a total of 14 crash experts are taking part in the investigation into why Continental Connection Flight 3407 from Newark plunged into a single-family home in Clarence.

All 49 people on board the turboprop plane were killed, along with one person in the house. Two other people inside the home -- a 57-year-old woman and her 22-year-old daughter -- made it out of the house.

Chealander says there are still some hot spots at the crash seen caused by the intense fire that raged after the plane suddenly plunged to the ground just a few miles from the Buffalo airport.

He says investigators will try and retrieve the aircraft's black boxes today and see what they reveal about the moments leading up to the crash.
