NJ, feds subpoena Ticketmaster, brokers

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - April 7, 2009 Officials want to learn how the brokers get seats that they resell for higher prices.

Rep. Bill Pascrell tells The Star-Ledger of Newark it's "the Pandora's box" and authorities will finally have some access to information to determine whether brokers have an unfair advantage over fans.

The state attorney general, the Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission are participating in the investigation. It stems from the sale of tickets for the May Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concerts in East Rutherford.

Ticketmaster signed a settlement with New Jersey weeks later in which it agreed to change the way it does business.
