Prosecutors have filed assault by auto charges against a New Jersey man whose license has been suspended 78 times in 22 years. Shaun Campbell is held on $50,000 bail in Morris County.

The East Rutherford resident already was charged with driving while intoxicated and obstruction of justice.

Authorities say the 39-year-old was drunk and had a suspended license when his SUV struck a pickup head-on in Morris Township last week. A Chatham Township man and his 4-year-old daughter were injured.

Authorities say Campbell's license was first suspended in 1987 for driving while intoxicated. Authorities say his license was suspended 12 times for DWIs.
