When they arrived, police say the found the home to be extremely unsanitary. Trash, rotten food and soiled laundry was scattered on the floor and they say there was a major fly infestation.
Officers tried to interview the two adults in the home, Daniel Brinsfield, 36 and Lynn Shuford, 30, but police say they were so heavily intoxicated that they kept passing out during the interview.
Police say the nine children in the house ranged from six months old to 12 years old. Six were the children of Brinsfield and Shuford, three were not.
Both were arrested and charged with nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
