The Philadelphia Phillies have recalled reliever Jack Taschner, who had opened the season on the Phillies' roster but been sent down in July. Taschner was 1-1 with a 5.20 ERA in 21 appearances over his first stint with the Phillies. The left-hander was acquired from San Francisco for catcher Ronny Paulino in spring training.

In 20 appearances for Lehigh Valley, Taschner went 0-2 but held opponents to a .213 battle average and was unscored upon in his final seven appearances there.
