Police: Teen brought knife to school

CAMDEN WYOMING, Del. - October 16, 2009 The incident at Caesar Rodney High School on Thursday is the fourth case involving student violations of school weapons policies in a week.

Court records state that a teacher saw the kitchen knife with a 4½ inch blade covered in dirt on a seat in a classroom and took it. When the teacher asked the girl why she brought the knife to school, she replied that she used it to peel an orange.

The girl was charged with possession of a weapon in a safe school zone and carrying a concealed deadly weapon and suspended pending an internal review.
