The crash happened at around 12:30 p.m. on Tasker Ave. near 25th Street.
Investigators say the officer was traveling north on 25th when his cruiser was hit by a silver Subaru traveling west on Tasker.
The officer was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for minor injuries.
The driver of the Subara, a 58-year-old man, was also taken to HUP for minor injuries.
So far, no charges have been filed.
