Suspect in fatal arson fire sentenced for threats

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - December 10, 2009

Forty-year-old William Robert Woods was sentenced to 17 to 36 months in prison on Tuesday for making terroristic threats. Investigators suspect Woods of later setting the house on fire, killing two children.

Ten-year-old Michael Miles and 9-year-old Taevon Miles died of complications from burns sustained in the July 21 fire. Their mother, Tyaisha Leary, and a 12-year-old brother were also injured.

Investigators say Woods was Leary's ex-boyfriend.

Authorities say the investigation into the fire is continuing.
