The shooting happened at 11th and Market Streets around 9:00 p.m. Police say someone shot into a taxi, striking the driver in the shoulder. Police transported the cab driver to Jefferson University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are said to be nonlife threatening.
Police at the scene say an officer in the area happened upon the scene and took at least one suspect in for questioning.
It is not known if the cabbie was the intended target or caught in the crossfire.
