Texas could be the pond scum capitol of the world

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) - January 25, 2010

That's what entrepreneur Brad Bartilson is hoping.

His company Photon8 has moved from New Jersey to South Texas.

Bartilson says Texas has more sunlight than New Jersey, which is essential to turning pond scum into biodiesel fuel.

Bartilson says Texas not only has lots sunlight, but cheap land for algae farms.

He tells a local paper, the Lone Star State could be a leader in algae-based fuels.
