Work from home expo Sunday

April 8, 2010

If you're looking for extra income, the Network Expo is a golden opportunity to put you face to face with dozens of companies looking to hire.

""It's anything from being a mystery shopper to a virtual assistant to direct sales...from a food company that you pretty much get paid to eat," Network Expo founder Jennifer Colamedici said.

That's right, get paid to eat!

No schemes, no scams!

Colamedici and her team screened 60 plus companies that will be on site at this weekend's event.

"We've prescreened and confirmed that they are legitimate," Colamedici said.

One of those companies is MSP Services, a mystery shopping firm where you can earn cash or free stuff for your time.

"A mystery shopper will go into a location, evaluate the services, check to see how the place is running," Jim Johnson of Mystery Shopper Pros said.

MSP Services is looking to hire shoppers to go undercover for a range of different mystery shopping opportunities.

But, be warned. There are still lots of scams out there.

    To avoid getting ripped off:

  • Get all the details if a company asks you to put out cash.
  • Some legitimate opportunities do require you to pay for background checks and start up materials.
  • And if you're interested in mystery shopping, you can find a company or verify their legitimacy through the mystery shopper's providers association.
