Eighty-year-old Rudi Koos pleaded guilty to third-degree murder Wednesday in Montgomery County Court. Koos admitted he killed his 75-year-old wife, Waltrud, in their apartment in Souderton in January. Defense attorney Frank Genovese says his client is remorseful and just snapped when he thought his wife of 59 years was cheating on him.
Koos told police he accused his wife of cheating and she laughed at him. He said that led to a fight and he "lost it" and choked her.
Prosecutors say they'll seek jail time for Koos.
Police said the couple lived in the apartment since they immigrated from East Germany in 1957.
