Motorized scooter back with owner

WILMINGTON, Del. - August 23, 2010

The 77-year-old says whoever took the scooter ran the battery down and discarded it in the area of Frawley Stadium, but did not damage it. He is charging it up and hopes to express his gratitude to everyone Tuesday while riding it.

The scooter was stolen around 2:05 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Homestead Road in the Alban Park Apartments.

Charles tells Action News he only got to use his new scooter twice before it was stolen.

He says he uncovered it on Sunday then went back inside to get his wallet and keys.

When he came out about five minutes later, the scooter was gone.

Alexander says he suffers from rheumatoid arthritis which makes it hard for him to get around.

He says the scooter cost $4,000.
