Rice makes a great scrubber for hard to clean items like thermos, coffee carafes and narrow-neck vases.
Pour some rice and warm water into the item you're trying to clean, shake and swirl it around. The rice will scrub away stains even when you can't!
Need an air freshener? Pour a quarter cup of rice into a plastic zipper sandwich bag and add a drop or two of essential oil. Seal the bag and knead it back and forth in your hands to cover the rice with the oil.
Then transfer the scented rice to an old linen hankie and tie it with a pretty ribbon. Now hang the rice sachet wherever you need a little freshness.
Cell phone all wet? Carefully remove the battery and use some cotton swabs to remove as much moisture as you can.
Keep the battery out but replace the battery cover. Then fill a dish with rice and nestle your cell phone into the rice and let it sit overnight.
The rice will absorb all the moisture and dry out the phone. Once that's done, replace the battery and you should be all set to go.
