Fired NJ psychologist surrenders license

TRENTON, N.J. - August 26, 2010

Natalie Barone is accused of having an affair with a patient.

Barone has denied wrongdoing and appealed her firing. However, the 37-year-old did not formally respond to allegations of an affair with sex offender Michael Bordo during a license hearing Wednesday.

Barone's attorney, Jack Furlong, says she didn't attempt "to prove a negative" because she left New Jersey and doesn't need her license here anymore.

Barone became a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania days before being fired in April. A spokesman for Pennsylvania's State Department says she could face sanctions there because of the disciplinary action in the Garden State.
