Mrs. Fixit: Great ideas for balloons

October 25, 2010

If you have a bandage on your finger or toe with a bandage that can't get wet, pull a ballon over the bandage before you shower or do the dishes.

If you're supposed to do hand strengthening excercises, fill a balloon with some dry beans, rice or sand, tie off the end and you have an easy squeeze ball.

Need to bring some cut flowers somewhere? Wrap a damp paper towel over the cut end of the stems and pull a balloon up over the towel. To keep the flowers wet and the car dry!

Use a balloon to make a chocolate bowl for fancy desserts. Inflate the balloon to the size you need and tie it off. Dip the bottom of the balloon in melted chocolate. Lay the balloon on some wax paper and let it dry.

When it's set, gently deflate the balloon and you're left with a great little bowl!

To protect plants and flowers from animals, cut a mylar balloon into thin strips and tie them around a stick so that the ends can fly in the wind and then put them in your gardens. The shiny material will scare away the critters!

There you go, some innovative ideas for those balloons! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
