2 women, boy killed in western Pa. fire

EVERETT, Pa. (AP) - October 21, 2010

State police say two women and a boy died in the fire late Tuesday in West Providence Township, Bedford County. Authorities are withholding their names pending notification of their families.

Everett fire Chief Chuck Stone says it took firefighters five hours to bring the blaze under control after it broke out around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Stone said the flames could be seen a mile away.

Stone said the fire started in the rear of the two-family dwelling. Two men who lived in the front of the building escaped without injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
