Police locked down and safely evacuated students from the Parkview Elementary School in Westville Tuesday afternoon after the robbery at the nearby Colonial National Bank shortly before 1 p.m.
The robber did not show a weapon and fled on foot.
Police surrounded the school after someone reported a suspicious man near the building.
A room-to-room search failed to turn up the suspect.
