Police reopened the roadway between Green and McCallum streets in West Mount Airy Thursday night.
The break happened just before 6:00 a.m.
Police on scene reported the road was icing up and cars were starting to slip so they closed the drive in both directions.
25 homes lost some, but not all water service.
