Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Bustleton

Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal accident involving a train and a pedestrian in Bustleton.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. near the 8800 block of Krewstown Road.

Police say a 39-year-old Jenkintown man was walking along railroad tracks when he was struck by a CSX freight train.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train originated from Richmond, Virginia and was heading to Selkirk, New York. It consisted of three locomotives and carried 34 cars of mixed freight.

His name is not being released until next of kin is notified.
