General Motors is recalling about 2,100 2011 Chevrolet Cruze cars because the steering wheels could come off the steering column.

The recall follows an incident last month in which a steering wheel on a Cruze detached from the steering column while the car was moving.

The driver was not hurt, and GM believes it was an isolated incident.

GM plans to inspect Chevy Cruze models free of charge to ensure that the steering wheel is assembled properly.
