NJ Karate instructor admits sexually assaulting teens
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - September 4, 2011
Forty-four-year-old Joel Levy of Highland Park faces a
three-year state prison term when he's sentenced Dec. 16. As part
of his plea deal with Middlesex County prosecutors, Levy will have
to register as a sex offender and will be under lifetime parole
supervision once he's freed from prison.
Prosecutors say both girls were 16 and knew Levy before the
incidents occurred.
Levy pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges stemming from a
relationship he had with one girl between November 2009 and January
2010. At the time, Levy had a supervisory role over the teen.
He also pleaded guilty to criminal sexual contact for improperly
touching the other girl.
